Salisbury, MD: Election results in Maryland showed positive results for Maryland Libertarians. Muir Boda, the Libertarian candidate for Congress in Maryland’s 1st District received nearly 12,000 votes at 3.8%. Even more exciting the Libertarian Candidate for President, Governor Gary Johnson, received over 21,000 votes and 1.1% of the vote. This secures ballot access for the Libertarian Party in Maryland through 2016, which will save Maryland Taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars.
“I am so grateful for the support of my family and friends through this election”, Muir Boda stated, “I also wish to thank the more than 11,600 Marylanders that cast their vote for me. I am humbled and honored by every sacred vote cast for me.”
“This campaign was about spreading the message of Liberty and to offer voters an alternative to the two major political parties,” Boda continues, “I also want to thank all Libertarians that ran in Maryland and for continually carrying the message peace, free markets and civil liberties to voters in Maryland.
Governor Gary Johnson has performed tremendously well nation wide and I appreciate the support and mentoring the Johnson Campaign has provided to my campaign and those around the country. I am proud and honored to have represented the Libertarian Party in the 1st District and much appreciative for the groundwork laid by Dr. Richard Davis in the previous two elections here in the 1st District.
This is just the beginning. We have much work to do and it is very important work that must be done. We must continue to be a voice for Individual Liberty, Peace and Free Markets in a political environment that is negative, divisive and corrupt. I will do all I can to continue to be one of those voices and I call on all of those who believe in those and even in some of those ideas to stand with me and fight for and defend the principles our nation was founded upon.”
